James Grider is a Continuous Improvement Lead at our Frankfort, KY location. His teammates describe him as someone who lives our values every day and we certainly agree. Meet James:
Q: What drove you to pursuing work in manufacturing?
A: After graduating high school, I chose a career in manufacturing. The pay and benefits were appealing!
Q: What advancement opportunities have you seen at Greenheck Group?
A: I started on the Louvers team in 2016. After one year, I became 3rd shift Louvers team lead. Then, I became 1st shift team lead for a year until a role in fabrication opened up. A couple years ago, the Continuous Improvement Lead became available, and I was happy to apply.
Q: Why Greenheck Group over other employers?
A: I found Greenheck Group by chance seven years ago, but I stay for the friendly environment.
Q: What do you think is the recipe for a successful team?
A: Valuing others’ opinions is important. Since I don’t have any direct reports, my role allows me to help where needed. When it comes to training, it’s crucial to understand how each team member learns to optimize the way we collaborate.
Q: What’s something unique about working for Greenheck Group?
A: Every person I’ve worked with has been friendly and helpful. That’s hard to find everywhere.
Q: What’s your advice to new team members?
A: There’s a lot of information to take in when you start. Don’t be afraid to ask question –and be safe!
