Earlier this fall, DOAS reached a major milestone: Quick Builds are now available in CAPS for select configurations. A Quick Build is an order that does not involve complex custom parts or selections, making it easier to move through production in a shorter time frame. This development responded to a clear customer need for faster, more reliable access to ventilation equipment, especially for replacement projects and jobs with tight schedules. Recent competitor delivery failures widened that gap, pushing
customers to prioritize partners who could deliver quickly and keep their projects on track.
CAPS, or Computer Aided Product Selection, is an electronic catalog used for selecting, pricing, and ordering products. Making DOAS Quick Builds accessible in this program streamlines the ordering process for customers, delivering high quality products on an expedited timeline. This accomplishment was the result of months of hard work, detailed planning, and collaboration across multiple areas of the business. The effort required carefully managing capacity, ensuring material availability without overstocking, and developing systems to support quick turnaround on a product that has traditionally carried long lead times.
Within the first month of launch, Quick Build DOAS orders were already flowing through CAPS for some of our teams. One early success involved an apartment complex for university students in Atlanta. The project needed a DOAS unit in time for the start of the school year. With the new Quick Build functionality, the team was able to keep the project on schedule.
The real story is not just about a new offering in CAPS—it’s about the teamwork, problem-solving, and commitment that made it possible. DOAS Quick Builds in CAPS exemplify what we can achieve when we put the customer first, focus and collaborate. Congratulations to everyone who played a role in this success!
