Business is moving fast for the Architectural Products team in Shelby, North Carolina. Customer demand continues to grow, and our team is working hard to keep up. In March, our AP plant hit $9 million in production for the first time. In April, the team followed it with another $9 million month.
Now, the team is moving closer to a $10 million month, which would be a major milestone for our plant. A lot of our growth is tied to data center construction. As more companies build sites to support technology and artificial intelligence, they need louvers for buildings and backup generator enclosures.
Growth like this is exciting, but it also brings challenges. More orders means more work, sometimes longer days, and the need to find better ways to get products out the door safely and on time. To serve our customers, AP is adding team members, improving processes and looking closely at each area of the plant.
“We win as a team and we lose as a team. The good thing is, we’ve been very successful for quite a few years, and the team is driven to continue those wins,” said Production Supervisor William Bradley. The team has already found ways to improve. One example is the paint line, where team members across shifts have shared ideas to keep work moving during breaks and shift changes.
Another example is the distribution center, where the team is looking at how to move materials in and finished product out more safely and effectively as volume grows. We continue to look at equipment, training and other ways to support the growing workload, and Greenheck Group continues to invest in us. This work matters because customers count on us. When a customer orders a product, they need it to arrive when promised and in the right condition. If we do that well, the customer comes back.
The success in Shelby is not just an AP story. It is a Greenheck Group story. It shows what can happen when team members, shared service teams, and leaders all work toward the same goal: serving customers well, supporting each other and building a stronger future together.
