In July, Greenheck Group team members and Shelby community representatives broke ground on the company’s newest Wellness Center.
The 12,000-square-foot facility, scheduled to open in summer 2026, will include a health clinic and fitness center for team members and their families.
In partnership with healthcare provider Premise Health, the North Carolina Wellness Center will offer a full range of services, including primary and preventive care, acute care, physical therapy, mental health services, pharmacy services, and fitness and wellness programs. The goal is to improve access to high-quality, affordable care in a region where such resources can be limited.
“Improving access to affordable care in North Carolina is an investment that helps every team member, no matter where they are,” said Carrie Strobel, chief human resources officer. “When one of our teams saves on health care, all of us save.”
Greenheck Group supports the health and well-being of team members through a self-funded, cost-sharing health plan. As a self-funded organization, the company—not an insurance provider—directly pays the full cost of medical claims across all locations. The company covers the majority of healthcare costs, while team members share a smaller portion through monthly premiums.
With this model, when costs decrease in one location, the savings benefit the entire organization. Providing more affordable health care in North Carolina reduces the total claims paid by the company, helping offset future premium increases, manage out-of-pocket costs, and ensures team members have access to high-quality, affordable care, regardless of location.
“Health matters to our team members and their families, so it matters to the company,” said Carrie. “The North Carolina Wellness Center is an exciting next investment for the company.”
